Treasury and Revenue Collections activity is responsible for the billings and/or collections of various fees, cash management and investment of City funds. The following activities are performed:

  • Franchise Fee Collections
  • Special Revenue Collections/Reporting & Contract Management
  • Grant Reporting and Collections
  • Treasury and Investment Operations

Franchise Fee Collections

If you are a sole proprietor, partnership or corporation that owns or operates a utility (i.e. electric, gas or cable), you must file for a franchise.

Special Revenue Collections and Contract Management

This function is responsible for accounting for fines and fees collected by various City departments. Some examples include: Hotel-Motel Occupancy Tax, Police fines and Municipal Court fines.

Grant Reporting and Collections

This activity is responsible for assisting city departments to research, submit, administrate and report on grants which are available from various sources. Grant funds are used to off-set certain operating and capital costs.

Treasury and Investment Operations

This area is responsible for the cash management and investment of City funds. This includes the daily transferring and settling of the City’s depository funds, investing excess funds, and reporting investments in accordance with the Texas Public Funds Investment Act and the City’s Investment policy.
