The Round Rock Police Explorers made a great showing while participating in the Texas State Explorer Competition on April 28, in Waxahachie.

Approximately 128 teams took part in this year's Competition. The State Competition is designed to have challenging scenarios which are based on current Texas law enforcement standardized training.

The Round Rock Police Department sent three Explorer teams to the Competition and received two first place, three second place and two third place plaques as a result of all of their hard work:

  • Burglary in Progress -- 1st place (B Team)
  • Felony Traffic Stop -- 1st place (C Team)
  • Crime Scene -- 2nd place (A Team)
  • Misdemeanor Traffic -- 2nd place (A Team)
  • Individual Bike Obstacle Course -- 2nd place to Greg Garcia
  • Gang Activity -- 3rd place (A Team)
  • Officer Down -- 3rd place (B Team)

The Round Rock Police Department's continued to support efforts to provide a positive opportunity for the young adults.
