City rededicates Main Street Plaza to former Parks and Recreation Director
Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw and members of the Round Rock City Council rededicated the Main Street Plaza to former Parks and Recreation Director Sharon Prete during a ribbon cutting and sign unveiling ceremony on July 26.
A new sign has been fabricated and installed in the Main Street Plaza to honor Prete, former Round Rock Parks and Recreation Director and creator of the People and Parks Fund administered through the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation. Prete served the City of Round Rock for more than 25 years.
The Sharon Prete Main Street Plaza was completed at the end of summer 2011 and opened to the public in early October. The 14,000-square-foot plaza includes a 610 square feet performance stage, 1,075 square feet of interactive water feature, built in seating with decorative lighting, 4,000 square feet of grass seating and lounge area, custom shade structure, custom art panels and a state-of-the-art multifunctional lighting system.
