Police report rash of vehicle burglaries -- here's what you can do to prevent it happening to you
Since Aug. 5, the Round Rock Police Department has had 27 reported incidents of Burglary of Motor Vehicles. Half of these burglaries occurred as a result of unlocked vehicles while in residential neighborhoods.
The other burglaries were caused by forced entry in business areas -- where valuable items were left in plain sight in the vehicle.
You can reduce your chances of becoming a victim by keeping your cars locked EVEN when you are at home. Also, when you are out put valuable items in your trunk.
Don’t make it easy for the crooks! Remember always to LOCK your car, TAKE your keys and HIDE your valuables.
