City celebrates Rabb House Grand Reopening

The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department hosted the new Rabb House Grand Reopening Celebration Saturday, July 12, with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Round Rock City Council and the Rabb Family.

The new Rabb House offers state-of-the-art rental amenities for weddings, special events, business meetings, family events and more. The facility features an 1,800 square foot event room that expands to 3,000 square feet onto a balcony overlooking Brushy Creek and full audio/video capabilities. The facility also features a Pavilion with a grand staircase entry, restrooms, amphitheater and associated support spaces. An additional parking lot has also been constructed to accommodate large parties and events.

The original Rabb House and property was generously donated to the City by Round Rock residents, Virgil and Nancy Rabb in 1986. The home and adjacent property quickly became a popular rental facility among Round Rock Residents. In the floods of 2010, the Rabb House sustained major damage and was beyond repair.

Shortly after, the Parks and Recreation Department began working with the Rabb Family to create a state-of-the-art rental facility that would meet the needs of the growing community and also pay tribute to the original Rabb Family Home. Funded with the General Self Finance Construction Fund, the $2.7 million Rabb House will provide Round Rock residents an affordable facility for weddings, special events, business meetings, family events and more.

Residents may inquire about booking the Rabb House by calling the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 218-5540. Residents may also visit www.RoundRockTexas.gov/ParksandRec for pricing, seating suggestions and deposit information.
