Golf
GOLF - ADULT LESSONS
These beginner classes are designed to teach the basic skills covering full swing, stance, putting, chipping, pitching, sand play, and driving. Participants are to wear soft spikes or smooth soled tennis shoes. For 14 years to adult. Instructor: Forest Creek Professional
GOLF - YOUTH LESSONS
Youth ages 7 to 13 will learn the basic skills for the game of golf. This class is designed for the beginner and consists of four weekly lessons covering the golf swing, stance, putting, chipping, sand play, and driving. Participants are to wear soft spikes or smooth soled tennis shoes. Instructor: Forest Creek Professional. Register
Tennis
The Parks and Recreation Department regularly offers beginning, intermediate and advanced tennis classes. Beginner classes teach basic skills such as grip, stance, strokes and strategy. Intermediate classes focus on strokes. Advanced classes teach shot placement, mental prep and advanced strategies. Students can bring their own racket or one will be provided for them. Ages 14 and up.
Clay Madsen Recreation Center offers a wide variety of tennis classes for youth and adults. Each class will have a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 12 participants. Classes will be re-scheduled for rain on the last Saturday prior to the last class of the session. There will be NO refunds if you are unable to attend the make up class and NO individual make up classes. A class will be cancelled if there has been rain at CMRC 30 minutes prior to the class. ADULT TENNIS CLINICS
This exciting clinic is for all adult plates of all levels with lots of fast paced drills and detailed instruction for players that look for that special edge over their opponent. Choose from weekly clinics or 4-week clinics. Walk-ins welcome! Rescheduled classes will be on the last Saturday prior to the last class at 10:00 am. Instructor: Jack Alsup

In the adult beginner class a comfortable approach is used to teach basic grip, stance, stroke mechanics and simple strategy. Participants can bring their own racquet or one will be provided for them. Rescheduled classes will be on the last Saturday prior to the last class at 10:00 am. For ages 15 years to adult. LITTLE LOBBERS
In the Little Lobbers class, the students will learn basic grip, stance and stroke mechanics in an age appropriate environment. We have 21” junior rackets to use if you do not have one. Rescheduled class for rain will be the last Saturday prior to the last class at 8:30 am. For ages: 4-7 years. Instructor: Jack Alsup
JUNIOR BEGINNER I CLASSES
In the junior beginner class, participants will learn all basic skills and etiquette including grip, stance, stroke mechanics, and simple strategy to play the game of tennis. For ages 8-14 years. JUNIOR BEGINNER II CLASSES
This “advanced beginner” class is for the student that has had at least 2 months of beginner instruction or shows outstanding skill while participating in the Beginners I class. An advanced beginner is expected to be able to rally back and forth consistently and is designed to prepare the student for actual match play through rallying dills. Yoga-Doodles
This program is created specifically for children and is designed around 3 principles: calmness, strength and flexibility. Kids are taught both mental and physical yoga-inspired stress reduction techniques. Each class consists of focused breathing, age appropriate postures, concentration and visualization exercises and guided relaxation. A sticky yoga mat is required for class. Mats can be purchased in class for $15. Ages 6-12 years. Register online
Little Yoga-Doodles
Movement is essential for growing kids and yoga is a fun, non-competitive activity. In this class kids are taught about awareness of movement and coordination through story telling and guided play. Each class consists of focused breathing, age appropriate postures and guided relaxation. Parents are not required to participate and kids must be restroom independent. Little Ninjas

This program is specifically designed to teach the important qualities of respect, self-control, and confidence. Black uniform required after first class and can be purchased from instructor or outside vendor (no refunds on uniform). Due to the lesson plan there will be no new registrations after the third week of class. In order to advance to the next level there are additional fees for tournaments and belt tests. For ages 3 – 5 years.

Martial Arts
American Karate will be taught with an emphasis on self-defense, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Black uniform required after first class and can be purchased from instructor or other outside source (no refunds on uniform).
In order to continue advancement additional fees are required for tournament and belt tests. Due to the lesson plan there will be no new registrations after the third week of class. Babysitting Certification
Get certified as a babysitter and become more marketable in your community. This program will teach how to handle an emergency situation, rescue breathing, holding and feeding infants, how to interview potential clients, and age-appropriate activities. Participants that successfully complete this program will have an opportunity to volunteer at the CMRC Madsen Playroom for hands-on experience. For ages 11-16 years.
