What is urban forestry?
An urban forest is described as all the trees and plants in an urban area where people live, work, and play. The job of an urban forester is to manage the natural resources within an urban setting by working to preserve and promote the growth of healthy trees in the community. The Oregon Department of Forestry provides a great description of urban forestry and the importance of urban foresters in the community. See Round Rock's urban forestry page.
