The CMRC Pool is available for lap swimming, water exercise, open recreation time, water aerobic classes, and other instructional classes and programs. DEFINITIONS OF SCHEDULED PROGRAMS
Lap Swim: Continuous lap swimming for ages 12 & up. Lap swimming is available at all times during operating hours, however, during scheduled programs, there will be limited lanes available. During peak times, lap swimmers will need to share lanes. It is recommended that swimmers try to share lanes with swimmers close to their own ability level.
Open Pool Time: The pool is open for all ages during open pool time. Children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. During this time, up to three lanes will be removed near the ramp side of the pool for recreational swimming or self-paced individual water exercise. When a scheduled program is not taking place, the first lane, closest to the ramp will be available as a water exercise lane, but is still available to any swimmers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Water aerobic classes
Water aerobic classes at the CMRC are a GREAT way to get in shape or to just tone your muscles. See below for details on the class that best fits your needs. Classes are geared for adults. | Water Aerobic Class Schedule (PDF)
Class Signup - Register for water aerobics classes by purchasing an individual class card or an aerobics class punch card from the front desk. The individual class fee is $5.00 per class. A punch card for 10 classes is $40 and the punch card for 20 classes is $70. These cards allow you the flexibility to pick from the water aerobics classes.
Shallow Water - A shallow water class (chest deep) is designed to provide improvements in strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. The water takes pressure off bones and joints, allowing you to get a great workout without the wear and tear that comes with other exercises. All ability levels are welcome.
Aquacize Lite - This class is designed to provide range-of-motion work for the joints and gentle strengthening for all the major muscle groups. An instructor takes you through the progression of exercises, all done in shallow water.
Deep Water - The deep water class uses buoyancy cuffs to keep you floating while doing vigorous leg activity, including running, jacks, and cross country skiing all with no impact. Great workout!
Aqua Conditioning - (Formerly called Arthritics Plus) These low impact classes, done in shallow water, are designed to reduce stress and pain in joints, and to improve your endurance and range of motion. It combines water resistance as well as walking to give you an all around workout.
