Saturday, April 20 - Friday, April 26
It's time to clean the clutter from around the house and
dispose of those hazardous chemicals properly!
The City of Round Rock will kick off the 2013 Spring Cleanup Week by having a Household Hazardous Waste collection on Saturday, April 20, rain or shine. City of Round Rock residents can bring their leftover paint, pesticides, fertilizers, stains and home chemicals from 8 a.m. to noon to the City of Round Rock Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. Please bring driver's license and a recent City of Round Rock water bill for proof of residency. This program is funded by fees incorporated into the City of Round Rock's water bill. Residents that do not have a water bill generated by the City of Round Rock will not be able to drop off materials. Only residential waste in quantities of 25 gallons or less will be accepted. Contractor and business waste will not be accepted. Please call (512) 218-5559 or e-mail tracyh@roundrocktexas.gov with questions.
The Bulk Trash Pick-up will occur the following week from Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26. Residents may place large, bulky items by the curb with their normal trash on regularly scheduled pick-up days. Bulky items include scrap metal, lumber, furniture, mattresses and appliances that do not contain Freon. All materials should be placed neatly at the curb. Due to the large amounts of material expected, some items may not be picked up on the scheduled garbage collection day. There will be quantity restrictions. Please contact Round Rock Refuse at 255-4980 for details.
The following items WILL NOT be picked up curbside: tree trimmings, brush piles, demolition and construction debris, televisions, computers, freon-containing appliances, automotive products and household chemicals.
The following items are accepted daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Recycling Center:
- Electronics: computers, television sets, etc.
- Automotive products: motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, oil filters
- Non-freon appliances: washers, dryers, hot water heaters, stoves, dishwashers
Please visit the Center's web page for a complete listing of items accepted at the Recycling Center.
For a service fee, air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers can be recycled by calling Round Rock Appliance Recycling at (512) 903-6195.
Tree trimmings and brush should be taken to the Brush Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. The Brush Recycling Center is open daily (except Sundays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For your convenience, a curbside pick-up for brush can be arranged with the City of Round Rock Parks Department. A fee will be applied to your water bill for this service. Please call the Parks Department at (512) 218-5540 for more information or to schedule a pick-up.
