Saturday, April 18th - Friday, April 24th
It's time to clean the clutter from around the house and
dispose of those hazardous chemicals properly!
The City of Round Rock will kick off the 2009 Spring Cleanup Week by having a Household Hazardous Waste collection on Saturday, April 18th. City of Round Rock residents can bring their leftover paint, pesticides, fertilizers, stains and home chemicals from 8 a.m. to noon to the City of Round Rock Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. Please bring your City of Round Rock water bill for proof of residency - a driver's license with Round Rock address does not indicate if you pay City of Round Rock taxes. Only residential waste in quantities of 25 gallons or less will be accepted. Contractor and business waste will not be accepted. Please see the Home Chemical and Paint Collection Flier for further details.
The Bulk Trash Pick-up will occur the following week from Monday, April 20th through Friday, April 24th. Residents may place large, bulky items by the curb with their normal trash on regularly scheduled pick-up days. Bulky items include scrap metal, lumber, furniture, mattresses and appliances that do not contain Freon. All materials should be placed neatly at the curb. Due to the large amounts of material expected, some items may not be picked up until the second scheduled garbage collection day. There will be quantity restrictions. Please contact Round Rock Refuse at 255-4980 for details. Please see the Spring 2009 Bulk Trash Pick Up Flyer for further details.
Items that should not be placed by the curb include computers, automotive products and appliances containing Freon. Please take your computer-related materials to any area Goodwill location for recycling. For a service fee, air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers that contain Freon can be recycled by calling Round Rock Appliance Recycling at 560-9508.
Automotive products such as oil, antifreeze, batteries and oil filters are accepted daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the City of Round Rock Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive.
Please also note that tree limbs or brush piles will not be picked up. Tree trimmings and brush should be taken to the Brush Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. The Brush Recycling Center is open daily (except Sundays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For your convenience, a curbside pick-up for brush can be arranged with the City of Round Rock Parks Department. A fee will be applied to your water bill for this service. Please call the Parks Department at 218-5540 for more information or to schedule a pick-up.
