Building A House The Building Inspection Division is responsible for the inspection of all construction in the City to ensure compliance with ordinances, building codes and applicable specifications.

Currently the City of Round Rock is under the 2006 International Building Code (ICC) which includes the Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Code. The City has also adopted the 2008 National Electric Code (NEC). Local amendments to the 2008 NEC can be found in the City's ordinances. All adopted ICC Codes are available for purchase through the International Code Council web site or they may be viewed at the library.
