 Conservation Rate Calculator

To determine how much your water bill will be under the new, four-tier May-October conservation rates, you can use the calculator on this page. You can find how much water you're using by looking at your water bill next to the "Total Consumption in Gallons" line item. Take that number and type it into the calculator above to determine how much you will be charged under the conservation rates.

The block rate program for a typical residential home (5/8-inch meter) works like this: water consumption up to 18,000 gallons a month is charged the standard rate of $2.35 per 1,000 gallons -- the normal volume rate; the second tier rate is $2.94 per 1,000 gallons for consumption between 18,001-24,000 gallons; the third tier is $3.53 per 1,000 gallons for consumption between 24,001-30,000 gallons; and the fourth tier is $4.70 per 1,000 gallons for consumption greater than 30,001 gallons.

The average residential customer in Round Rock uses about 15,000 gallons a month during the summer months and is the amount used for the usage comparison.

The new program does not affect the $13.84 base fee for residential customers with a 5/8 inch meter.
