
The City of Round Rock will be implementing two new bus services for people traveling to and from Round Rock on their daily commutes starting in the fall of 2010.
The Peak Hour Express Bus Service between Round Rock and Capital Metro's Park and Ride at Tech Ridge. The City’s park and rides facilties will be located in the southwest area of Downtown Round Rock at the City's Intermodal Transit Facility and Parking Garage and near the intersection of IH 35 and SH 45.
The express bus service will run Monday through Friday during peak morning and evening hours and will connect with several Capital Metro bus routes including the express bus route to The University of Texas and Downtown Austin.
The Reverse Commute Service will provide public transportation to employment in Round Rock from the park and ride at Tech Ridge. Passengers to Round Rock will have access to the SH 45 corridor and many of Round Rock's largest employers including Dell Computers, Inc.; Sears TeleServ; Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation; Celerity; Michael Angelo’s Food Processing; Dresser Wayne; Accretech; Mag Rabbit; KoMiCo and other large and small retailers and commercial centers located along the SH 45 corridor.
The Peak Hour Express Bus Service and Reverse Commute Services will provide a range of options for Round Rock citizens to get to Austin for work and other activities. These services will also expand the opportunities for individuals seeking to work in Round Rock. The Peak Hour Express Bus Service and Reverse Commuter Services are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2010.
