Citizens on Patrol (COP)
The Citizens on Patrol program (COP) is part of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA). COP volunteers receive additional training and may be approved drivers of city vehicles. They learn radio procedures and receive specific safety training on being a part of the eyes and ears for the department. COP volunteers act as a resource to crime prevention. The greatest accomplishment to the CPAAA /COP volunteers in 2012 was the contribution of a marked Citizen Patrol vehicle equipped with tools necessary to perform their duties.
