2010 Anniversary Celebration Special Events

10 Year Celebration Racquetball Shootout
Sign up for this exciting Racquetball Shootout tournament to celebrate the Rec Center's 10th Anniversary. Tournament divisions will include A, B, C, D Singles, A Doubles and B & C doubles.  Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each division.

Dates: August 20-22 | Fee:  $15 per division

Bird House Building School
A fun and creative event where you will learn how to build a bird house. This hands on project will be taught by a member of the Home Depot staff.  Once the birdhouse is complete, participants will be able to decorate it however they want. | *15659

10 Year Celebration All Star Basketball Challenge
Show your skills on the court and above the rim. Each challenger will receive a commemorative jersey.

7 p.m. Thursday, July 22 | Fee: $5 per contest
One contest registration per challenger | Ages 16 Years and older

3 point Shootout
Participants will have sixty seconds to earn points by successfully shooting from behind the three point arc on the court. At least one basket must be made from each of the five spots. The top scoring individual will be declared champion. Trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd place. | *15660

Above the Rim Dunk Contest 
At Clay Madsen’s above the Rom Dunk Competition, each contestant will get 2 dunks and will be judged on a scale of 1-10,  highest score will win the competition and be crowned Clay Madsen Recreation Center’s Dunk Champion.  Trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd place. | *15661

Sharp Shooter Competition
Each participant will have sixty seconds to earn points by successfully shooting from five designated spots on the court. At least one basket must be made from each of the five spots. Trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd place. | *15662
 
Game of PIG 
We’re brining back the old school game that really showed who had skills.  Our family game of PIG is a chance to showcase your shooting talents. Contestants must make shots after the person in front of them from the same location. If you miss a shot then you will earn a letter. Once you spell out P.I.G. then you are out. Last person standing is crowned Clay Madsen Recreation Center’s Basketball Pig Champion.  Trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd place. |  *15663

Art Contest
Clay Madsen Recreation Center is looking for talented artists to enter our art contest in celebration of our 10 Year Anniversary. The top three winners of each age category will be displayed at Clay Madsen Recreation Center.  Drawings must be no larger than 18 x 24 and no smaller than 8½ x 11.  Entries MUST be submitted by July 23, 2010.  Entries will be judged and awarded by July 28, 2010.

CMRC Re-dedication and Celebration
You are invited to attend and celebrate with us as we re-dedicate The Clay Madsen Recreation Center on the same date of its original dedication, 10 years later.  Cake, punch and refreshments will be served. | 11 a.m. Friday, July 30.
