Grab your pole, tackle and bait
The City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department presents the Youth Fishing Derby from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Bright Lake in Old Settlers Park. The event is free but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For ages 3-12 years and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Greengo's Food Truck will be onsite beginning at 7 a.m. They will have breakfast food and drinks available for purchase. Download the menu (PDF).
Participants must provide all their own equipment and one fishing pole per child. We will have some worms onsite, but feel free to bring your own bait. Bright Lake is home to bass, catfish and sunfish, so prepare accordingly. Size 6-8 is a good all-round hook size.

There will also be demonstrations and other activities.
Schedule of Events
- 6:45 to 9 a.m.: Check In/Late Registration
- 7 to 11 a.m.: Fishing
- 8 to 11 a.m.: Activities
Awards immediately following result tabulation at conclusion of fishing. Prizes will be awraded for the Largest Bass Caught Overall, Largest Fish Caught in each division and Most Fish Caught in each division.
