Section 2 - Looking for all parks?
After launching ParkVIEW, you will need to make sure that you can find the information that you are looking for.
Select Layers
Look at the Layer List on the right-hand side. In the Layer List you will need to make the "Parks" layer the active layer. This is done by selecting the radio button in the Active column to the left of the word "Parks." Only one layer can be active at a time
You will also need to make sure that several layers are visible to help you find the park locations. You will want to select the check boxes in the Visible column for "Parks" and "Streets." You may also want to select the check box for "RoundRock_20.sid" if you want to display the aerial photography, however this may slow down the display of the map.
Now click on the "Refresh Map" button at the bottom of the Layer List.
A new map will display in the Map Display with the parks, streets and the aerial photos (if selected) visible.
Zoom
Select the Zoom to Full Extent Button.
This will display the entire map in the Map Display.
Select All Parks
Select the Select by Rectangle button.
This will allow you to select a particular area of the map in the Map Display.
Since you want to find all parks in Round Rock, you will want to select the entire map in the Map Display. Start with your cursor in the top left hand corner of the Map Display.
Click and hold down the mouse button while dragging the cursor to the lower right-hand corner of the Map Display, then release the mouse button. This will select the entire map in the Map Display.
A list of all the parks selected will also display in the Information Display.
Select a Single Park
Scroll through the list in the Information Display of all parks to find a park that you are interested in.
If you see a park that you would like to display on the map, simply click on the underlined number in the "Rec" column that is on the same row of the park that you are interested in.

The map in the Map Display will then refresh with a map that is zoomed to the park that you are interested in. You can then use the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons to get your bearings on the location of the park.

Section 4 - Looking for a particular park amenity?
If you are looking for a particular type of park amenity, such as sports fields or courts, you will follow similar steps for locating parks.
Layer List
Look at the Layer List.
In the Layer List you will need to make the type of amenity that you are interested in the active layer. This is done by selecting the radio button in the Active column to the left of the facility that you are interested in. Only one layer can be active at a time.
You will also need to make sure that any other layers that you wish to display are visible. You will want to select the check boxes in the "Visible" column next to the amenity name. You may also want to select the check box for "RoundRock_20.sid" if you want to display the aerial photography, however this may slow down the display of the map.
Now click on the "Refresh Map" button at the bottom of the Layer List.
A new map will display in the Map Display with the selected layers visible.
Select Amenities
You can then select the particular amenity location that you are interested in with the Select by Rectangle button.
The information about the amenity will display in the Information Display after you select it.
