
The Park Development team is responsible for evaluating, planning, and developing various types of parks, trails, and open spaces within the city. Park development projects range in scale from design and installation of playground equipment to master planning large parcels of parkland.

2008 Projects Under Construction

Brushy Creek Regional Trail Gap Project
The Brushy Creek Regional Trail Gap Project is a $2.95 million plan creating alternative transportation opportunities by extending Round Rock's current trail system. The project expands the Williamson County Long Range Brushy Creek Regional Trail Vision to connect Hutto to Lake Travis. The route cconnects existing Brushy Creek East Trail, running west from Forest Bluff subdivision, to Sonoma subdivision, at A.W. Grimes Blvd.

Meadow Lake Park Development
This project will increase the length of trail along Meadow Lake. Development will connect with existing trail on the South edge of Meadow Lake and continue along the North lake edge.

Old Settlers Park Sports Complex Development
Project development includes improvements and renovations to the Old Settler's Park Baseball, Softball, and Tennis complexes. The design will include two new softball complexes, converting existing softball to baseball, and addition of a restroom facility for the tennis complex.
CIP Information
Bowman Park Development
Phase I of this park will include development of a playscape and a 1/4 mile crushed granite trail loop around the perimeter of the park. There will also be park amenities such as benches located near the playscape. Further phases, dependant upon funding, will include extension of the walking trail and multi-purpose practice fields.
