In 2007, the Fire Chief and the Round Rock Fire Department initiated the "Coin of Excellence" program. The Coin of Excellence provides the Fire Chief an effective means to recognize fire and civilian personnel for exceptional service and achievement.

Uniquely personal in its presentation and tied to the pride and history reflected in the Fire Department's patch, the Coin of Excellence significantly contributes to the spirit, pride, morale and cohesion of an organization.
