The Round Rock Police Department's Pace Car Program helps reduce speeding in residential areas by enlisting drivers to participate in the program and “lead by example.”

To join the pace car program, drivers sign a pledge to obey all traffic laws, especially speed limits and stop signs. Participating drivers are given a sticker for their vehicle that designates them as official "pace cars."
