Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks
Round Rock's Police Chief Allen Banks started with the City in March 2014. Banks has spent his entire 21-year career with the Albuquerque Police Department, starting as a patrol officer in 1992. During his tenure in Albuquerque he had responsibility for the Field Services – the largest division in the department – as well as Support Services, which includes SWAT, DWI Units, Records, Payroll, and more. He also ran Internal Affairs and the Criminal Nuisance Abatement Unit as a Lieutenant, and served as a Shift Watch Commander for the busiest sector of the City.
He has served as Interim Chief since August 2013 after the chief retired. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2009. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has a bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University.
