The City of Round Rock celebrates the opening of the Champion Fields at Old Settlers Park baseball complex on Sunday, March 29 at 2:30 pm in conjunction with Opening Ceremonies for the Round Rock Baseball League.
Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw, Round Rock City Council; the Round Rock Baseball League and Round Rock Parks and Recreation will all celebrate the opening of the complex and kickoff of the Spring baseball season. The community is invited to join in the celebration.
The 90 acre, 20 field baseball complex was constructed in about 9 months and its features include a 2000 square foot shaded arbor area next to the concession stand, 14 lighted batting cages, a tailgate island, 250 permanent terraced bleachers seats (500 total with removable bleachers) at the championship field, covered playground and ample warm-up areas outside of the fields. Together, the baseball and softball complex have become premium tournament quality facilities as well as a true tourist destination.
The baseball complex at Old Settlers Park underwent renovations over the past year including the addition of shade awnings for spectators, enhanced spectator seating, championship fields with a warning track and bull pen, centrally-located playgrounds at each complex and tailgate islands, making Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park a true baseball and softball sports destination.
The complex is the result of the work of several contractors, builders, designers and contributors: contractors/builders Journeyman Construction and Chasco Constructors; designers Shrickel, Rollins and Associates and BWM Group; additional vendors: Musco Sports Lighting, ICON Shelters, The PlayWell Group, Recreation Consultants of Texas, Landscape Structures, USA Shade, Daktronics.
