The City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation 2nd Annual Round Rock the Boat Regatta is in conjunction with the July 4 Frontier Days Celebration. During the Round Rock the Boat Regatta, teams make boats out of cardboard and tape and then try to complete a race course as fast as they can without sinking. The 2009 Boat Regatta was originally scheduled for May 16, but was cancelled due to weather conditions. The deadline to register new boat entries for the Regatta is June 29 for those who wish to participate on July 4.
