Location: Round Rock Public Library
216 E. Main Street, Round Rock, Texas  78664 (Map)

Janette Johnston of the Round Rock Public Library will be offering a series of Every Child Ready to Read workshops for parents and care-givers to learn how to teach children pre-reading skills. Free Continuing Education (1 hour) will be given for those attending.

The third and last workshop will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 for parents and care-givers of children from four to five years old, or the pre-reading group.

Current research on early literacy and brain development indicates that it is never too early to prepare children for success as readers. Parents of newborns, toddlers and preschoolers serve a critical role as their children's first teacher. The Every Child Ready to Read Early Literacy Inititiative is a program developed by The American Library Association, the Association for Library Service to Children, and the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development.

For more information, please contact Janette Johnston.
