As a tribute to our local talent, the Round Rock Area Arts Council will hold its 2nd annual "Imagine" event - an Evening of Art and Music - from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Texas State University's Round Rock Higher Education Center, 1555 University Boulevard, Round Rock.

The Round Rock Area Arts Council will make a special announcement and celebrate achievements during its first year. The speaking program will begin at 7:20 p.m. and performances will be throughout the evening from the Round Rock Symphony Orchestra, Penfold Theater and Lone Star Harp Trio.

Selected art submissions (both professional and amateur) will remain on display for public viewing at the Higher Education Center through May 14.

"This will be a very diverse show with more than 100 pieces of artwork from local artists - everything from paintings and sculptures, to photography, wood carvings and 3D artwork," said Cathy Kincaid, President of the Round Rock Area Arts Council. "There will be so much to see and hear!"

More than 200 people attended last year's invitation-only event and this year's event - which is open to the public - is expected to draw a larger audience. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to attend this business-casual affair.

The Round Rock Area Arts Council is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to encourage, support and enhance current and new arts and cultural activities in the Round Rock area. Visit
