The City of Round Rock will hold an open house to get input on the 2010 -2020 General Plan, including the latest version of the future land use map, from 12 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the Alan R. Baca Center.
In the Spring and Summer months of 2009, the Round Rock Department of Planning and Community Development held a series of public meetings to gather community input on the broad range of topics covered in the City’s General Plan. The General Plan is the official policy document guiding the physical growth and development of Round Rock. The meetings were an incredible success: valuable input was gathered from a diverse and enthusiastic group of community members, and the Planning Department gained a much better understanding of the important issues that need to be addressed in the new version of the General Plan, entitled Places and Spaces: Round Rock General Plan 2010 – 2020.
The Department is now in the process of completing the first draft of Places and Spaces: Round Rock General Plan 2010 - 2020, and has carefully incorporated the community’s input into this new draft. Community input is still crucial to the development of the Plan, and the Planning Department would like to invite all community members, as well as City staff members, to an open house, where they’ll have an opportunity to provide input on the Plan’s Future Land Use Map and major recommendations.
Follow progress of the Plan on the General Plan blog. We hope to see you there and get your feedback!
