The City of Round Rock has rescheduled the July 4th Independence Day Fireworks Celebration to Friday, July 16 due to rain and park conditions. The fireworks will now be a part of Time Warner Cable’s “Movies in the Park” presentation of Planet 51 at Lakeview Pavilion at Old Settlers Park.
Unless severe weather occurs, the July 4th Parade will still go on as scheduled, beginning at 12 p.m. on Main Street. Additionally, the Sertoma Rubber Duck Race will continue as planned at 4 p.m. at the lake at Old Settlers Park. Round Rock Sertoma will also conduct a second Rubber Duck Race on July 16.
“Inclement weather caused a cancellation of the fireworks celebration and event festivities, but we still wanted to offer the citizens of Round Rock the fireworks display,” Parks and Recreation Director Rick Atkins said. “We hope that everyone will enjoy the fireworks in conjunction with the “Movies in the Park” event on July 16.”
