The United Way of Williamson County presents Bill Engvall: Live in Georgetown at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Performing Arts Center at Georgetown High School. This benefit show honors Janet Engvall McTigue, former Executive Director of Georgetown Area United Way, and her strong commitment to strengthening nonprofit agencies serving the people of Williamson County.
Bill Engvall's down-home wit and blue-collar charm have made him one of today's most popular and successful comedians.
At the show, the Engvall family will present a local nonprofit agency with the Janet Engvall McTigue Award, a $10,000 award that offers an opportunity for a local organization to advance excellence within their organization.
Over many years Janet worked to help the neediest within our communities, both through her efforts with United Way and by her direct engagement with individuals and organizations to advance the common good. Janet's brother, Bill Engvall, Jr., said, "My family and I are honored that an award has been established in my sister's name. Janet had an amazing commitment to serving those in need and she would be happy to know this cash award will help a local nonprofit do even more for the people in Williamson County. I know Janet would be proud."
General admissions tickets are $25/$40. VIP tickets including a pre-show reception are $75. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. Open seating at each ticket level.
