The Capital Area Regional Transit Coordination Committee will host a community meeting to get input on regional public transportation needs and potential solutions from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Round Rock Public Library.
The Committee is working to develop a new Coordinated Plan for Public Transit and Health and Human Services Transportation. The plan will replace a Coordination Plan developed by the region in 2006. The updated plan will:
- identify ways that the region's existing family of public transportation services (ranging from transit buses to agency vans to volunteer drivers) can be better coordinated to meet more needs
- identify cost-effective strategies for meeting unmet needs in the region, and
- guide the prioritization of new services for funding through the Federal Transit Administration.
