This one-hour session will include a Powerpoint presentation that describes the benefits of school gardens and will include displays and suggestions for activities to involve children in gardening, environmental habits and other outdoor activities both in the school and home environments. Several school gardens from the Houston and Austin areas will be featured. Connections between literacy and school gardens will also be explored.
