The Round Rock Public Library presents a reception for artist Alberto Rojo from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.
The exhibition "To Penetrate the Ancient is to Understand the Present: The Old and the New is Only a Question of Time" will be on display in the Library gallery from Oct. 6 through Oct. 31, 2011.
Alberto Rojo is originally from the State of Hidalgo in Mexico, where the Tolteca (Toltec) were based. The Tolteca influenced the paintings in this exhibition to a great extent. These paintings describe the complex movements of the soul, or spirit. They also communicate the state of consciousness of the ancient indigenous peoples of these continents. A story is told through paint of an inheritance that cannot be learned, only re-awakened!
