AFTER CHRISTMAS FAMILY NIGHT, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR EVENT SURVEY! We appreciate your feedback!
Join the City of Round Rock for the 27th Annual Christmas Family Night in downtown Round Rock with music, performers, arts and crafts and festivities to kick off the holiday season.
Christmas Family Night begins with a welcoming from Round Rock Mayor Nyle Maxwell and the illumination of the street with holiday lights before Santa makes his grand entrance in a horse-drawn sleigh. During Christmas Family Night downtown historic Round Rock is decorated with small wooden houses which “house” various free games and activities.
This free event includes activities for the entire family including live music, dancers, Cowboy Bunkhouse storytellers, candle-making, carriage rides, game booths, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus and more. Entertainers include Cap’N Connie Leaverton, comedy juggler, unicyclist and acrobat in “Human Furniture” and Actor Damian Gillen plays all the roles in A Christmas Carol in his presentation “Bah Humbug.” Children need to bring their “wish lists” for Santa Claus (pictures with Santa are only $1.) Plus, enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and other refreshments, activities and snacks.

Christmas Tree topper tradition
In 2005, we started a new tradition. The tree topper on the Christmas Family Night tree symbolized an ideal or symbol for Round Rock -- something significant that happened during the year that will have lasting effects on our community. For 2006 we will celebrate the past prosperous year for the City of Round Rock with the Parcel of Prosperity. In 2005, Mayor Nyle Maxwell lit the "candle of knowledge." The candle, the universal symbol of knowledge, was in recognition of the Round Rock Higher Education Center. After the lighting, Santa arrives on a roaring fire truck and the night’s events went into full swing!
Parking- Public parking is available at the City Hall Parking Garage, at the Round Rock Public Library, or neighboring streets. Please obey all traffic volunteers. Main Street will close at 4 pm for set up for Christmas Family Night and traffic will be diverted at the intersection of Mays and Main.
MEDIA PARKING is located on Lampasas street, by the city parking garage behind the soldier house. Call Terri Waggoner at 512-844-5292.
