Toddlertime is pleased to share a program of songs and rhythms with our special guest Jennifer Savage from Music with Mar.
The program provides activities for adults and children to participate in together that aid in development. The program does not ‘teach’ music; but uses music to teach.
In a typical class, children and caregivers engage in educational and enjoyable music activities such as:
- singing songs,
- using rhythm sticks,
- interacting with puppets,
- pinching bubbles,
- parading with instruments,
- hearing a story,
- using sign language,
- and moving to the music.
Most weeks, the Round Rock Public Library presents Toddlertime, a reading activity geared for ages 18 months to 3 years old. This interactive program includes four or five books each week with fingerplays and/or songs in between.
Elements of the program are designed to support the Ready to Read early literacy project; our goal is to build a strong foundation for learning--and the joys of learning--among pre-readers.
