Round Rock residents are invited to participate in National Dance Day at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at the Prete Main Street Plaza.
Grab your pom-poms, don your pig tails and bring your “Go Team” attitude. The City of Round Rock and Round Rock Arts Council is cheering for National Dance Day with a filmed group dance opportunity.
Guys and girls should arrive at 9 a.m. to learn the National Dance Day routine from Sherry “Shamrock” Leetham. Or you can learn the Everybody Dance routine online from the dizzyfeetfoundation.com.
At 10 a.m. everyone will perform the routines together while being filmed. The film will be uploaded to the Dizzy Feet Foundation. All footage has the opportunity of being aired on the television show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

National Dance Day got its start on the popular television show “So You Think You Can Dance,” whose producer and Judge Nigel Lythgoe pushed efforts to have the day recognized by Congress. This grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity.
About the dance instructor
Sherry "Shamrock" Leetham, the Founder of FIT 2 CHEER, is the inventor of The Weighted Pom Pom “PoundPoms™” and the creator of a new cheer dance aerobic class called Cheer Camp.
An AFAA certified personal trainer, ACE group fitness instructor and an AFAA/ACE continuing education provider she is a former collegiate cheerleader who received her B.S. in Pre-Law & her LCSW from the University of Tennessee school systems. A current resident of Round Rock she has been involved in dance and fitness for nearly 20 years and now combines her education and expertise into a unique perspective to advocate healthy lifestyle.
