Join the City of Round Rock and the sports community as we celebrate the groundbreaking of the Sports Complex Improvement Project on from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the site of the new Girls Softball Complex (corner of 122 and Kiphen Rd in Old Settlers Park.)
“Over the next year, Old Settlers Park ball field complex is going to undergo a lot of changes,” parks and recreation director Rick Atkins said. “This project is our investment in the Sports Capital of Texas adding improvements to 20 fields and the construction of a new 5 field complex for the community.”
Athletes are encouraged to “swing” on by to help the City of Round Rock break ground on the project which includes many renovations to our current ball fields and softball complex. Project highlights include the following improvements at each complex: lit batting cages, large bleacher shade structures, a championship field with terraced bleachers and warming track, bullpens, fenced warm-up areas, “Tailgate Islands” and covered playgrounds.
Project contractors include Chasco Construction and Journeyman Construction. For more information call 512-218-5540.
