2009 Round Rock Reads! activities included a contest for Williamson County high school students. Entries could be written essays or creative online content. Winners for both kinds of entries will be announced at an award ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Library.
In the spirit of Dan Moody's legacy, the entries had to address the following theme: Tell about another Williamson County citizen, past or present, who has directed his/her efforts toward the betterment of society. Be sure to explain what specific change was brought about as a result of this individual’s influence.
The ceremony is co-sponsored by Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody and The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library.
First place winners in the two categories will receive $100 Barnes & Noble gift certificate for the winners as well as a $100 Barnes & Noble gift certificate for the winner’s school. Second place entrants will win trophies, and third place will win medals.
