Details
Swim
Each participant will line up by race number at one end of the pool. A timing mat will be placed near the beach zero depth entry, where participants will walk over to enter the water individually every 5-10 seconds. Participants will walk/jog to the deeper end and start their swim. The "river-like" pool is about 10-12' wide and 125y long with stairs midway for about 75y to exit or continue for their race distance. The pool is also 3'6" in depth, therefore most youth can touch or least move to the side/edge of pool if a rest is needed. There will be volunteers in the water and lifeguards around the pool. There is a separate gate entry for spectators that will allow the spectators to walk along most of the pool length on the back end of the pool. This will be a designated area that will be marked for spectators to view.
Transitions
Participants will have a area for their bike/gear etc and this area will be closed to spectators and parents once the transition area closes. There will be volunteers around the area should a youth need assistance. However, try to help your child have a better race day by preparing them on how to strap helmet, get shoes on etc. (we also offer a camp to help prepare the youth to a better race day and each event in the series builds to the next). There will also be a water stop near this area.
Bike
Each participant will bike on closed roads through the park and around the Round Rock Express Baseball Complex (entrance to RR Express lots will be closed to traffic). There will be volunteers throughout the course to assist with any directions, turns etc. The route is fairly flat with a slight hill near the transition and near the creek. There will be volunteers near the hill at transition to assist any participant that needs assistance. Please discuss and review with your youth this option. Parents and spectators will not be allowed to assist the course. Only race volunteers can provide asssitance.
Run
The run course will travel through part of the park's trail and grassy area to the finish line with with water stops along the way. There will be volunteers along the run course to assist on where to go, but the course will also be marked.
