Round Rock Police seizes $1.5 million worth of methamphetamine

Round Rock Police conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the seizure of 36 pounds of methamphetamine. Rosalinda Lopez, 22, of Laredo, Texas, was arrested around 11:51 a.m. Monday, May 18, near the 2900 block of N. IH-35.

Lopez, who was alone in a 2008 Nissan Rogue, was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a police service K9 alerted on the vehicle. Fifteen bundles of methamphetamine were located on the interior of the gas tank of the vehicle.

Lopez was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver over 400 grams. The illegal drugs, valued at approximately $1.5 million, were believed to be transported from Mexico to North Texas.
