The Greater Round Rock People and Parks Giving Circle is pleased to announce the People and Parks Fund. Support your community parks and quality of life by becoming a member of People and Parks! As a member, your dues will help fund an annual park project and YOU get to vote on which project YOUR money supports.
3 projects:
As a member of people and parks, we need you to select one of the following three projects that you'd like your funds to support for the City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation. These are the three projects for 2008.
1) Fountain at Round Rock West Park:
Round Rock West park is a 15 acre park which includes a pavilion, playground, walking trail, tennis courts and a pond. The pond is a great attraction as it is home to a large geese and duck population. Adding a fountain to Round Rock West park will not only beautify the park with the fountain spray, but the proposed aerator/display water fountain will increase water circulation in the pond and promote plant and wildlife health. The fountain will spray approx. 5-25' in the air.
2) Shade Arbor at the Round Rock Dog Depot
The City of Round Rock opened the Dog Depot Dog Park in 2008. Since opening, it has been a popular attraction for dog owners across the city. The park currently includes two separate play areas: one for small dogs and one for large dogs. An additional 10' by 10' shade arbor will provide a much-needed shaded area for people who come to the park with their pets to stay out of the Texas sun.
3) Pathway at Chisholm Trail Crossing
The Chisholm Trail park is part of Round Rock's history. Along the Brushy Creek, this park is where the city's famous "round rock" is located. There is need for a paved walkway through the park. This project will help residents and visitors who visit the park have a beautiful and convenient trail to one of the city's main historical attractions.
