New recycling rebate for 2012
A new recycling credit of 25 cents per month went into effect in January 2012. The credit is made possible by the revenue coming in from the sale of the recyclable materials collected from you every other week. You can find the rebate on the back of your utility bill under the “Solid Waste Service” heading.
In 2011, the City received $106,400 in revenue from the sale of recyclables by Round Rock Refuse, the City’s residential solid waste service provider.
Round Rock’s every-other-week citywide curbside recycling program went into effect January 2011. We have seen recycling volumes increase more than 340 percent compared to a year ago. Approximately 15 percent of all solid waste is being recycled.
