Due to the weather forecast, the event location has moved to the Old Settlers Association Tabernacle.  Check in, meals and some activities will take place inside the building, while camping and other activities will take place on the association’s grounds. The address is 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78665.  Once you turn off of East Palm Valley Blvd./Highway 79, take the first left to the association’s parking lot.

Check in will be from 3:30-6:30pm inside the Old Settlers Association Tabernacle. At check in, you will be asked if you will be pitching your family’s tent and camping for the night.  If camping, you will be directed to unload your equipment and to move your car to the Dell Diamond parking lot. If you are not camping but staying for the activities, you will be directed to move your car to the Dell Diamond parking lot to free up space for others who are checking in or picking up their shirts. A hay ride shuttle will be circling between the parking lot and the activity area to bring participants back and forth from 3:30-6:30pm.

In the event of lightening & thunder, the event will be suspended immediately. Listen for a series of long air horn sounds to notify event suspension. Participants should seek shelter immediately in the Old Settlers Tabernacle or in their vehicle.  This could happen at any time, including the middle of the night. We strongly encourage participants seek shelter when event is suspended. Event may resume after 30 minutes of non-severe weather. Participants will be notified by a long air horn sound.

During check in, a representative for each family (ages 18 & older) will sign to acknowledge they received the Family Campout Weather Notice. As a reminder, this is a no refund event.

At check in, registered participants will receive a wristband and t-shirt.   The wristbands MUST be worn for the duration of the event and will be required for meals.  Wristbands will be hole punched for the meals, so please do not put them on too tight. 

The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department presents the Family Campout on Friday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 22 at Old Settlers Park.

Come spend the night in Old Settlers Park!  You’ll pop your tent around the Lakeview Pavilion, eat dinner, have fun, play games, sit around the campfire eating s’mores, watch a movie in the park and then off to sleep under the stars. Wake up with the sunrise and enjoy breakfast before heading on your way to enjoy the rest of your weekend. 

  • Registration

Register online HERE.

Registration for the campout is required. Registration fee is $10 through September 20 and will increase to $15 on September 21. Each registered participant will receive two meals (dinner on Friday evening and pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday morning, vegetarian option available if requested by September 14), s’mores and a t-shirt.

What to bring

You will need to provide all of your own camping equipment. We recommend bringing:

  • Tent (participants are responsible for setup & take down of tents)
  • Sleeping bags
  • Flashlight
  • Reusable water bottle (water coolers will be available to fill bottles)
  • Insect repellent
  • Snacks and drinks (No alcohol or glass containers)
  • A chair or blanket for campfire and movie

No pets allowed. No electricity available. No shower facilities. Personal campfires are not allowed. 

Fuddruckers will serving dinner at Family Campout again this year! It will be Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers and Veggie Quesadillas (for those who requested the vegetarian option).

This event will be held rain or shine unless extremely dangerous conditions exist. No refunds will be given.

Kona Ice will be onsite Friday evening selling shaved ice ($3-$5) and a coffee vendor will be onsite Saturday morning selling coffee and various hot & cold beverages ($2-$7).

Tent Decorating Contest

There will be a tent decorating contest Friday evening so bring your most creative stuff to ‘spruce’ up your tent. Prizes will be awarded to the most creatively decorated tents (1st-3rd place).
