Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program

Federal Transit Administration

As a recipient of Federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Transit Administration, the City of Round Rock is required to maintain a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program.

The DBE Program encourages socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who own and control at least 51% of a for-profit small business to participate in government contracts by establishing DBE participation goals. The following groups are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged:

  • African Americans
  • Hispanics
  • Native Americans
  • Asian-Pacific and Subcontinent Asian Americans
  • Women
  • Other individuals may also qualify as socially and economically disadvantaged, on a case-by-case basis.

The City is currently updating its DBE Goal.  This link, provides detailed information on the Program itself and the new goal calculation.  If you would like to provide any feedback on the new goal, please email clee@roundrocktexas.gov.
