|REMINDER: New water rates go into effect on Oct. 1, 2017|
Use this calculator to determine what your water bill will be under the new rates that go into effect Oct. 1, 2017. The new rates will be reflected in bills received starting in mid-November. The new rates will be in place year-round. Prior to Oct. 1, the City charged according to usage tiers only during the summer.
Here are the previous and new tier rates:
|Tiers||Previous rate*||New rate||Change|
|Tier 4||$4.98||$5.60||62 cents|
*per 1,000 gallons
The volume in each tier would change under the planned program. Below are current and proposed tier volumes. Under the new structure, these volume tiers will apply year-round, not just in the summer months.
|Tiers||Previous volume||New volume|
|Tier 4||30,001 and up||27,001 and up|
The average residential customer in Round Rock uses about 13,000 gallons a month during the peak summer months.
The base fee for residential customers with a 5/8 inch meter is $16.04.
