Adulting 101 For Teens – Disaster Preparedness (ages 13-18) (preregistration)

Welcome to our series designed to help teens develop life skills and knowledge to transition to adulthood.
September is National Preparedness Month so this session will include information on what you can do to be prepared for a potential disaster. Topics will include:
- Different types of disasters and alerts.
- Perceptions of disasters.
- Preparedness actions you can take now.
- Creating a “Go-bag”.
Speaker Bio: Cheree Smith is the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Round Rock. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Disaster and Emergency Management from Sam Houston State University. She has worked in disaster and emergency management in varying capacities for 7 years.
