The Round Rock Public Library and Austin SCORE will be offering a series of free workshops for entrepreneurs and small business owners on Fridays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., through October 26. SCORE is a nonprofit dedicated to helping small businesses and entrepreneurs start, develop and maintain their businesses.
These free timely workshops, presented by recognized experts and practitioners, will cover a variety of issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs including finances, marketing, and strategic planning.
Join us on Friday, Oct. 26 for Introduction to Search Engine Optimization. Learn the answers to these questions: What is SEO, and how does it help? What do I need to know? Should I do it myself or outsource? Brent Werbeck will define SEO and explain its benefits. He will also provide five key things that you need to know and discuss whether you can do it yourself and explain outsourcing options. Brent will address:
- Definition of search engine optimization; Basic understanding to how search engines work; How people interact with search engines and why that matters; Why SEO is necessary; How it helps your business
- Main differences between on-page and off-page SEO; On-page SEO-friendly design (meta tags, etc.); Off-page SEO best practices (backlinks, citations, social profiles, content creation); Top tools to use to help manage your SEO; How to monitor and track your results
- Should You DIY or Outsource; What is your bandwidth; What is the scope and how will it get done; How much time, what tools will you need, and what are the added expenses; How to find and interview SEO experts
