Learning Lab

December 12, 2021 @ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm

Do you want to learn how to take better pictures? How to use Microsoft Word? Or maybe you want to learn how to start an Instagram account? The Learning Lab is a space where lifelong learners can drop in to get access with a library card to thousands of online, self-paced, expert-led lessons, courses, and tutorials to help you develop business, technology-related, and creative skills.

Come to the Second Floor of the Library, Sundays, from 2 to 4 p.m. to get started.

Who uses the Learning Lab? In short…it’s people like you. We created the learning lab so anyone can access our equipment and free resources to quickly discover and build their skills.

This program offers library cardholders an opportunity to use the library’s equipment in a dedicated space to build computer skills, learn languages, conduct research, and practice with Office applications alongside a free library digital resource.

For patrons who do not have their own dedicated computer equipment or reliable internet access, this is an opportunity to learn and practice computer skills in a variety of formats. This can mean preparing for school and homework, adding skills to a resume, learning skills necessary for their jobs, and learning languages.

With access to assistance through a Tech 1:1 appointment, and/or trained room monitors, some limited assistance and guidance can be provided.

If you don’t need the learning lab, be sure to use our public computers throughout the week and ask about how to connect to free resources for lifelong learning. And visit the Tech Binder on the 2nd floor for quick tips!
