Poetry Workshop with Austin Bat Cave (age 8-12) (preregistration)

May 19, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 6:00 pm

The Round Rock Public Library welcomes Austin Bat Cave and poet Zana Muscove for a night of writing lyrical poems about the things we love the most. Tweens, ages 8-12, may preregister to join the fun on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 5:00 pm in Meeting Room B.

Whether it’s pizza, Minecraft, an adorable pet, or a parent, best friend, or sibling, we’ll teach you how to use descriptive language, rhyme, and humor to capture your feelings and commemorate your bond through the art of poetry!

Please Note: Online preregistration is required. This program is for children ages 8-12 only. Those who arrive more than five minutes late may forfeit their space(s). If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation via Eventbrite or call 512.218.3275.

About Austin Bat Cave:

Founded in 2007, ABC works with young authors ages 6 to 18 in Central Texas, primarily Travis County. We provide programs in creative writing, journalism, college essay writing, resume writing, expressive journaling, and more. We strive to make our programs safe and accessible for all students, and prioritize partnerships with Title 1 schools and communities that have limited access to creative arts programming. With Austin’s rising housing costs and shifting demographics, we continue to adapt. In the past two years, ABC expanded its geographic reach to increase program equity and accessibility, activated youth civic engagement through op-ed programs, integrated therapeutic journaling into our programs, and provided monthly workshops for system-involved youth.
