Halloween PreK Playtime
October 26 @ 6:30 pm – 7:10 pm
Hang out with your best boos!
Sign up for one of the 30-minute Halloween PreK Playtime sessions. Explore a variety of creative play activities at your child’s own pace.
Costumes are welcome but not required.
Reverse trick-or-treat: an optional activity
One optional activity will be an opportunity for a “reverse trick-or-treat.” Children who wish to participate should bring 20 items they can give to other children. Suggested items include individually wrapped candies, stickers, or small trinkets. Participating children will put one item in 20 bags; at the end of the playtime, they are welcome to take home a single bag filled with treasures brought by other children.
The reverse trick-or-treat activity will be at a single station. It should be easy for families to avoid if they are not participating.
Times and reservations
Families with children of all ages are welcome, but children ages 18 months – 6 years old will enjoy it best. Some stations may not be appropriate for children who put toys in their mouths.
Each session is come-and-go in the library’s meeting rooms, for 30 – 40 minutes. We will reset the stations and air out the room between sessions. Sessions are available at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
We will limit each session to 30 families. Reservations are recommended. Please reserve one ticket per family group (up to five individuals).
Reservations open Sept 14, and close 2 hours before each session.
Please Note: If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation via Eventbrite or call 512-218-3275.
This activity replaces the regularly scheduled Wednesday and Thursday morning Toddlertime and Preschool Storytime programs.
