VIRTUAL Williamson County Genealogical Society Meeting

June 18 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Williamson County Genealogical Society meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. A different topic is discussed each month, providing an excellent resource to those interested in learning about their family history.

Join us in June for a virtual meeting via Zoom for Genealogy Giants by Sunny Morton. The general meeting will be a viewing and discussion of a recorded video Comparing the Genealogy Giants: Ancestry, FamilySearch, Findmypast and MyHeritage, which is a 46-minute lecture given by Sunny Morton at RootsTech in London on October 26, 2019. She begins with a description of each service and their individual record strengths. For example, FamilySearch has 453,000 scanned books. It also has a research wiki with 90,000 articles. She gives specific guidance on the strength of records of each in the United Kingdom. She also touches on the DNA features of each service.

Alan Rabe will host the meeting. You can access the Zoom Meeting on the WCGS website at:
