- Do you want to get started building your family tree?
- Need help finding the information and records you need?
- Or help with internet searching?
- Or programs?
- Or anything else genealogical?
The Williamson County Genealogical Society Meeting hosts WCGS University on the last Saturday of each month (with a few exceptions), from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room B. Topics and presenters for these classes vary. We will introduce you to tools and techniques that will help you locate more of the documents and records to solve your genealogical brick walls.
Join us in May for Preserving Memories by Cindy Foreman. This workshop is designed to be a hands-on experience for you see, hear and touch some of the different products, tools and storage options which can help you preserve your textiles, photos and newspapers. Also a discussion on how you might preserve videos as well as voice tapes you’ve collected over the years will be addressed.
If you plan on attending bring one item that you would like to have some suggestions or ideas on how best to preserve it and be willing to share why it is important to you. This should be a fun group experience and a variety of different ideas will be shared and suggested. This could be something you’ve thought about working on but to date have not explored what is available. A handout of the resources presented and shown during this time will be provided.
WCGS meetings and workshops are FREE and open to the public so bring your friends!
