WCGS University

September 28, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

  • Do you want to get started building your family tree?
  • Need help finding the information and records you need?
  • Or help with internet searching?
  • Or programs?
  • Or anything else genealogical?

The Williamson County Genealogical Society Meeting hosts WCGS University on the last Saturday of each month (with a few exceptions), from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room B. Topics and presenters for these classes vary. We will introduce you to tools and techniques that will help you locate more of the documents and records to solve your genealogical brick walls.

Join us in September for “Searching ALL the records on” If a basic search on is the only approach you use to find your ancestors, you might be missing out on a lot of potential discoveries. The records you can find by performing basic searches represent only a small portion of what’s available on FamilySearch. In fact, 77 percent of the free historical records on can’t be found by searching. That’s a lot of information about your family just waiting to be discovered!

Join us as we go over the image-only collections and learn how to extract all the original records they have to offer us. These valuable collections contain copies of original documents, filmed by LDS over the years. This is an exciting topic that never ceases to impress and amaze everyone who takes the time to learn about these record sets.

WCGS meetings and workshops are FREE and open to the public so bring your friends!
